The best way to bleed a Shimano disc brake
This bleed procedure can be used on a variety of brakes with just a few tweaks like using the correct syringes and oil. From experience the general method of pushing the fluid up and and back multiple times has proved to be the most consistent way of getting a good bleed on most brands of brakes, try it yourself and let me know how it went.
You will need:
- Shimano mineral oil
- Shimano bleed bucket
- Shimano bleed syringe
- The correct Shimano bleed block for your brakes
- 7mm spanner
- Plastic tyre lever
- Pliers
- Allen keys
- Paper towel
- Brake cleaner or isopropyl alcohol
